“We’ve been kind of forced fed this ideal that fun has to be a night out dancing. Where for a lot of folks having fun might be just asking your partner can I have a two hour reprieve because I haven’t read a good book. So whether you want to call that self care or not, fun is just engaging in pleasurable acts. And if that means that your tastes and preferences have changed, and just finding a little bit of time for yourself is what it’s gonna take to have fun, then go ahead and do that. Give yourself permission. It doesn’t have to be an extravagant night out, you can really find fun in the spaces.”
