“I can vividly remember laying in my bed and saying, you know, if I ever get out of this, I’m going to do everything I can to help people and to give them hope. Because back then it would have been 90, mid 90s probably — there was no internet, no Google machine. You had to go to a bookstore to find help.

We always talked about mental health in our home because of what I went through, and I let my kids know you come to me, no matter what, you know, you will figure it out.

When I look back now what I could have done differently was ask for help. But back then, during those times, you just did it and I don’t I could have done anything much different than than what I did. I just because I wasn’t educated. You know what you what you can’t you can’t Do something about something that you don’t know. So that’s where the importance of education is.”
